RICO
We found Rico on the beach in Puerto Vallarta seven years ago. He was suffering terribly with flea bites and scabies. No one would go near him, not even to give him food. We couldn't let him continue to suffer, so we took him to a local vet for some initial treatments. We didn't plan to take him back with us to California but fell in love with him and when we went home, he came with us. He fit right into our family of two other dogs and cats. He is a bit of a clown and always makes us laugh with his antics but he has a heart of gold and is truly the most loyal of friends. He's also quite a flirt and charms the ladies when we have company. I still think about him on the beach suffering and am so grateful we had the opportunity to turn his life around.
NAM
When Nam was just a wee pup she was begging for food and a vendor threw boiling water/oil on her. She was rescued by Headrock Dogs and 6 operations later, she was ready to begin a new life. Her body has many scars and her ears are misshapen, but she is a beauty in everyone's eyes... She now lives in West Vancouver with her new human companion and friend...The above photo was taken in Thailand just before she left for Canada.
TORI
|
Here is Tori, a sixteen-year-old fashion plate. It is difficult to embrace the snows of winter when you're only seven pounds and easily buried. A dapper coat and booties are a must! |
JESS
Jess was found as a puppy tied to some railings in a nearby town. She was covered in ticks and fleas and starving It was thought some travellers abandoned her. She looked like a fawn and then her legs proceeded to grow and grow but because of her bad start she has digestive problems and always will have. She now lives happily with another 3 rescue dogs and 7 cats
MOLLY
Molly was rescued six years ago. She had been re-homed by the RSPCA in England twice already and been returned for unpredictable behaviour with people and other animals - all due to having been badly abused before being seized. We were her last chance and would have been put to sleep if we hadn't kept her. Not that I needed any encouragement to make her a part of my family. I admit that Molly has many behavioural problems but she is our princess and we love her more than words can say. She is our darling girl - always was and always will be.
