PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PHOTOS ABOVE ARE NOT THE DOGS THAT WE WILL BE SPONSORING. NEW PHOTOS WILL BE POSTED AS SOON AS DAWN CAN FIND THE TIME TO TAKE PHOTOS.
WHAT WE ARE ASKING NOW IS FOR EVERYONE WHO CARES TO PLEASE SEND A DONATION BY USING THE SPECIAL PAY PAL ACCOUNT THAT HAS BEEN SET UP FOR THE DOGS OF THAILAND. WHEN WE GET THE PHOTOS OF THE DOGS THAT WILL BE SPONSORED FOR ONE YEAR, WE WILL, ON YOUR REQUEST, PUT YOUR NAMES UNDER THE DOGS NAMES.

A PLEA FOR HELP FROM DAWN POOLE
Hua Hin Dog Rescue Center (HHDRC), located in Hua Hin, Thailand urgently needs help.
Some of you may remember the photographs taken in Hua Hin Dog Shelter (not the same organization) that were featured on many animal lovers’ sites fairly recently.
We (HHDRC) had a small, enclosed & separate facility within their compound, kindly lent to us by the local authority. As the Shelter are now rebuilding, they have given us a week to relocate. Fortunately, they have allowed us to relocate to a rather dilapidated compound nearby. I have put out an appeal for help locally, and am hopeful that we can fix it up & move the dogs before the Tessadban (local authority) start to dismantle our (built & paid for by us) compound & let our dogs loose with the less fortunate dogs you saw pictured, as they have stated they will do.
The problem comes when the new Shelter is built (approx 6 months, according to the Tessadban estimates). If we do not have an alternative place by then, we are to relinquish the care of all 140 of our dogs to them. We are not to be allowed to care for them, bring food or medical treatment for them (or their new compatriots) or even see them again after that point. We (and any other foreign org, we have been told) will be banned from admittance to the Shelter.
At this time, thirteen of our dogs are past residents of the shelter. I took them in because they were in so much worse state than any of the others. (Further dogs we have taken from the Shelter have sadly died, or had to be euthanised) They are all beautiful, ‘fat’ healthy dogs now. We cannot contemplate returning them to their previous state, nor contemplate relinquishing the care of any of our others. Please look at our website www.dogrescuecenter.org and compare the photos to the ones you saw.
We need money &/or land desperately, so we can build a new facility elsewhere for our dogs. If we could manage to build a big enough center, we would take some Shelter dogs, also (if allowed). If anyone can help, please contact us.
We realize it is very unlikely that we will raise the money needed, so this week we will be visiting local temples to ask for permission to release some of our dogs (all are neutered & vaccinated) at each. If we are then forced to take this road, we shall care for them in the temples & also extend the care (& neutering & vaccination, obviously) to all of the dogs in those temples. This will also be a mammoth undertaking which will take a colossal amount of time & work, and will require ongoing funding.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this.
Dawn Poole,
Manager HHDRC
